Thoughts on Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars

Firstly I don't condone any leadership as described in this post. This post is simply here to highlight a unique aspect in Star Wars that is rarely found in the media. Palpatine is arguably one of the most strategic villains in American film. This man not only took over an entire galaxy but he did it quickly. Palpatine began his leadership as a senator later becoming a chancellor. Palpatine manipulated Dooku to the sith and ordered him to erase the coordinates to the planet Kamino(the planet of the people who make clones for the clone wars) to prevent the Jedi from knowing about the clones being created for the clone wars. Dooku was also the head of the Separatist senate council. Palpatine then killed and stole the credentials of Sipho Dias to validate that the Jedi wanted clones for the clone wars. Palpatine and Dooku started production of the Separatists droid army to wage war on the Republic. The Republic had no army big enough so they had no choice to use the Clones from Kamino. During the production of the Clones they were all implanted with a kill switch for the Jedi at the end of the war. During the war the senate had to neglect its citizens' well being thus turning the general population against the Jedi and senate(keep in mind the Jedi council is a branch of the senate). During the war this took a toll on everyone in the galaxy on every side. By the end of the war he made sure public opinion about the Jedi was poor then declocked his sith presence around the jedi prompting them to investigate him. The Jedi were prepared to assassinate Palpatine for being a Sith Lord. However, Anikin defended him. As a result of the murder attempt Palpatine had a reason to justify his order to kill every jedi. He ordered every clone in the army to kill their jedi generals. Palpatine and Anikin had a father son relationship. Palpatine knew the Jedi council would cast Anikin aside and not accept him in the order due to his untraditional entry to the order(they only accept young children and Anakin was about 8). Anikin was even rejected from becoming a master for the council. In his eyes this was a betrayal. Naturally with this relationship with Palpatine and the negative relationship with the council he had an easy decision to make joining Palpitine. Immediately after the war palpatine established his reign. One of his first orders was to invalidate all citizens' Social security numbers and set up booths so people could change them along with invalidating the currency that they can exchange their currency. This does a few things. Firstly all people with criminal backgrounds (military deserters included as seen in the bad batch). This allows the new government to find all criminals and imprison them along with establishing fear in the galaxy. In the series “The Bad Batch" we learn the origins of why Palpatine stopped using the Republic Troops. We learned that they were expensive to make and maintain. For financial reasons Palpatine decided to conscript many soldiers and give lesser training. It also relieves his reign from the debt the Republic gained during the war with them. Palpatine methodical reign was an interesting premise in the Star Wars saga. It’s a fascinating premise of someone taking over the galaxy while managing it swiftly. Before and during his reign he has been managing the galaxy. Most of all I found it Intriguing that he turned the Republic into a dictatorship.
