Conflict between Mike and Sully - Monsters University movie

Micheal Wazawski(Usually just called Mike) is a monster in an unnamed city in the movies “Monsters Inc” and “Monsters University”. In this movie monsters are valued based on the fear they can inflict on people. The movies highlight the jobs people have as “Scarers” to create fear to power factories and towns. The job position seems to be a deified position in their society. However Mike is not viewed as a particularly scary individual. Mike grows up studying the industry on how to be an effective scareser for most of his childhood and adolescent years. Until eventually he is accepted into a university called “monsters university”. James Sullivan(nicknamed Sully) is a monster in the college who is the son of a famous scarer. Immediately he is praised by the class and the staff. But unlike Mike he does not possess fundamental knowledge like Mike does. Sully eventually gets accepted by an honor society however they notice that his grades were badly slipping. In the classroom Mike demonstrates his mass knowledge. Meanwhile Sully grows jealous of him because of his skills. Sully even knocks Mike's books out of his hands in an attempt to halt his growth of knowledge and out of personal pettiness and insecurity. This event sparks a mini feud between the 2 in the classroom prompting them to display how scary they can be(almost like a 17th century duel). The dispute was put to an end when they destroyed some of campus property. The dean of the campus asks both of them to demonstrate their skills but both do not meet her standards and she subsequently removes them from the program of scaring. Mike finds a program to get himself back into the program. However, he and Sully needed to work as a team. They struggled so much they almost failed the program to get back in. Over the course of the movie they become a better team. Unfortunately Sully becomes pessimistic that Mike could win the last trial and rigs the game as a result. Mike finds out and feels betrayed by Sully for not believing in him. Mike even goes as far to perform his skills on real humans but he fails. Mike escapes to a lake and sits on the ground in disbelief that he is not valuable in society. Sully breaks into the human world to help Mike and Sully admits that he is insecure and fearful to Mike. He further explains in the movie at the end that Mike was a courageous person and that he admired that, likely because he did not see it within himself. This movie has the theme that anyone can be what they want if their mind and determination is unshakeable. Mike was not feared in this movie but he was the key to unlocking other people to become the best they could be. Mike effectively became a leader for his team and Sully(As shown in Monsters Inc). Another moral was that a team does not need strong people to be strong, they need to be determined and united and above all receptive to each other. The team members all worked together to get the trials done. The final moral in this movie is that you must believe in yourself regardless of the circumstances as shown by Mike in the whole movie.
